Brownsville couldn’t keep up with Chartiers-Houston in Friday’s 52-20 setback in Century Conference play at Chartiers-Houston.

The Falcons (0-3, 0-4) scored first when Shandon Marshall pulled in a 36-yard pass from Jake McCormick for the touchdown and a 6-0 lead. Marshall had 72 yards on three receptions while McCormick was 7-of-13 for 115 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Buccaneers (2-0, 3-1) took the lead when Matt Whitefield ran six yards for the score and Joe Dunn kicked the PAT for a 7-6 lead.

AJ Myers’ one-run touchdown run gave Chartiers-Houston a 13-6 lead but the Falcons were able to cut the deficit to one when Mason Kelly pulled in a 21-yard touchdown pass from McCormick in the second. The two-point pass attempt was no good for a 13-12 lead for the Bucs.

Chartiers-Houston scored the next three touchdowns before halftime to go into the break with a 32-12 lead.

The Bucs continued to pour it on in the third with three touchdowns.

The Falcons stopped the Chartiers-Houston’s scoring run in the fourth when McCormick scored on a one-yard run and Lucas Harn added the two-point conversion to cut the Bucs’ lead to 46-20.

Harn led Brownsville with 71 yards rushing on 18 carries.
