Thomas Jefferson blanks Albert Gallatin, 62-0

Albert Gallatin ran into perennial power Thomas Jefferson on Friday in Big Nine Conference play and the defending WPIAL Champion Jaguars showed why they are still one of the top teams in the region with a 62-0 victory over the Colonials at Thomas Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson (4-0, 4-0) opened the scoring in the first quarter when Quinton Hill scored on a 51-yard touchdown run and a 7-0 lead after the first of eight Tommy Campbell PATs.

Jaguars quarterback Bobby Kelley threw the first of three touchdown passes when Jonathan Muehlbauer pulled in a nine-yard reception for a 14-0 lead in the first.

Zane Zandier scored the next two touchdowns for coach Bill Cherpak’s squad when he pulled in receptions from 19 and 44 yards for a 27-0 lead after the first.

Hill’s 49-yard run increased TJ’s lead to 34-0 and Zandier’s eight-yard run for the score put the Mercy Rule into effect at 41-0 in the second.

The Jaguars’ Justin Vigna (55), Sean Bell (22) and Nick Territ (8) ran for touchdowns.

The Colonials fell to 0-4 in conference play and overall. AG hosts Highlands (1-3, 1-3) on Friday in a non-conference game.
