JM netters sweep Geibel Catholic
Jefferson-Morgan 3, Geibel Catholic 0 – Jefferson-Morgan moved ahead of Geibel Catholic and into a third-place tie with Carmichaels in the Section 3-A volleyball standings by virtue of a 3-0 win over the Lady Gators Thursday night at Jefferson.
The Lady Rockets improved to 4-4 in section matches with their 25-10, 25-20, 25-19 sweep over the Lady Gators (3-5, 3-5). Carmichaels (4-4) lost to Frazier on Wednesday.
Leading the way for the Lady Rockets was Erin Confortini with 19 service points and 15 assists, Autumn Tedrow with nine kills and Jamie Lawrence with six digs.
Stat leaders for the Lady Gators were Lauren Tomasko with five kills and three aces, Alexa Henckel with 11 assists, Abbey Sitko with 19 digs, Amanda Antol with 11 digs and Grace Nowicki with three blocks.
Geibel Catholic is home to Bentworth on Tuesday. JM hosts Avella in a non-section match Monday before traveling to Frazier Tuesday.
