As procrastinators rushed to file their tax returns by Tuesday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer, emphasized again that Mr. Trump had no intention of making his public. Democrats have criticized the move, claiming that Trump must be hiding something. What do you think? Is this a big deal or just politics as usual?
“He must not want people to see how much money he owes the Russians. What other reason could there be?”
“If the country wants an ethical president, it’s a big deal. Those who support him seem to not care. It’s blatantly obvious he’s hiding something. If he wasn’t, he would have released them and put this sleeping dog to bed a long time ago.”
“It’s blatantly obvious that the Democrats didn’t care about Obama’s sealed records. His complete life was unknown. The only thing we knew was that he was a foreign- exchange student. I don’t care at all about revealing income tax records.”
“It will be interesting to see what you think when a Democratic presidential candidate refuses to release his income tax records. I bet you’ll be singing a different tune.”
“Obama was the best president from Kenya this country will ever see.”
“At least he knew health care was complicated.”
“The harsh truth about Donald J. Trump’s income tax is that his personal filing is separate from his corporate taxes. Very few people actually understand the tax code. If you can read 100 words per minute it would take you 30 days to read through the IRS tax code. Trump and his family are involved in over 200 business ventures around the world. Trump submitted the required portfolio of business disclosure. Congress has access to that information.”
“You know he is in debt to other countries and also owns places in other countries. That being said, do you demand he resign for all his conflicts of interest? Or do you want to stay quiet and worship the orange one?”
“I thought he e-mailed them to Hillary.”
“This is so stupid, he fulfilled all of the requirements to be president long ago. There is no requirement to release his tax returns, and I really don’t care anyway. Even NPR had a story yesterday explaining why there won’t be any smoking guns in them and seemed to be walking back the importance of their release because any real estate and development loans won’t be backed by him personally and be on those returns.”
“When you’re a hater you will always find something to cry about. I don’t want to see his taxes. It’s not my business. Unlike all the rest on you people, worry about your own taxes, such as paying your property/school taxes. But then again you probably rent and don’t have to pay them. So who is beating the system?”
“So if the new taxcode benefits him or billionaires specifically or unfavorably, you are OK with that because you aren’t concerned about ethics? Why can’t you have jobs and ethics? Why should one negate the other?”
