Marshall scores 35 in Falcons’ 66-56 win

Shandon Marshall poured in 35 points Friday night to lead Brownsville to a season-opening 66-56 victory over Yough in the opening round of the Falcon Tip-Off Tournament.

The Cougars held a 9-8 lead after the first quarter, but the Falcons rallied for a 26-21 halftime lead. Yough cut the deficit to a point, 42-41, after three quarters. Brownsville finished strong, outscoring Yough in the final eight minutes, 24-15.

Phil Pace was also in double figures for the Falcons with 14.

Gamal Marballie led the Cougars with 20 points. Jarett Bach finished with 16 and Danny Gibler added 11.
