Lady Rockets top Avella

Jefferson-Morgan 35, Avella 26 – Jamie Lawrence led the way with 12 points, as Jefferson-Morgan handed Avella its first Section 2-A loss, 35-26, Thursday at Jefferson.

Avella took a 13-12 halftime lead, but Jefferson-Morgan put the pressure on after intermission with a 10-5 scoring edge in the third quarter and a 13-8 bulge in the fourth to win going away.

Koty Georgetti led Avella (6-6, 2-1) with eight points. Jefferson-Morgan improved to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in section games.
