With just 10 days remaining in his presidency, President Obama on Tuesday night argued that the country is at a pivotal point in its history and that forces beyond our control are threatening American democracy. What did you think of the speech? Do you agree or disagree with his assessment?

“President Obama will go down in history as one of the best presidents this country ever had despite complete obstructionism from the Republican Party. Trump, the Russian puppet, will be the worst.”

“I agree 100 percent.”

“Trump hasn’t even taken office yet. Just give him a chance.”

“Name one thing Obama has done for the country that is good. He made the country more divided than ever before. That is the hope and change you got.”

“He killed Osama.”

“The Republican Party refused to work with Obama. They’re the ones who made the country more divided than ever. Now they want everyone to accept the puppet. President Obama took us out of the worst recession since the Great Depression and killed Bin Laden and ended a senseless war. Shall I go on.”

“What about things like healthcare, clean air and the longest sustained period of economic growth in history. It’s a pretty long list.”

“Republicans fought Obama from the beginning and now they want Democrats to go along with Trump. It makes me sick.”

“Obama’s speech last night was amazing. Trump can’t compare to him. Thanks to those who voted for a puppet for president.”

“Obama had nothing to do with Osama. The troops did that. As far as Obamacare, that was a total failure with premiums and deductibles going through the roof. How do you expect someone to pay more than half their income for insurance premiums?”

“What nonsense! No one was paying that much for premiums. More fake news.”

“Mass shootings are up because the NRA has bought and paid for Republicans who refuse any common-sense gun laws. People who have pre-existing health conditions who can now get insurance and those who never had insurance before are thankful for Obamacare. People who voted for Trump will see how much he cares about the middle class and those in need.”

“Unemployment is much lower than it was eight years ago when George Bush was taking the U.S. into a tragic recession. More people own homes today than they did eight years ago when the bank was repossessing them at alarming rates. Overall, things are a lot better now than before he was president.”

“The NRA owns Republicans so we will never have sensible gun laws.”

“What’s so hard to grasp about ‘shall not be infringed on?”‘

“The unemployment numbers look good on paper because after you are no longer eligible for unemployment you are no longer on that statistic.”

“Why should I have to pay for someone else’s healthcare. And they get better care than I get.”

“The racial bonds that took 40 plus years to build have been destroyed in the eight years Obama has been in office.”
