Two-vehicle accident
State police said a Chevrolet Impala driver was turning right into Speedy Meedy’s from University Drive, July 7, when the vehicle hit a Subaru Crosscreek that was stopped in the parking lot attempting to exit. Police said no damage was observed and no injuries were reported.

Fire ruled accidental
A state police fire marshal determined that a fire at 160 Leisenring-Vanderbilt Road at 8:30 a.m. June 30 was accidental. A firefighter was injured and transported to Uniontown Hospital for treatment. The blaze caused about $100,000 in damage. Police listed the occupant as Athena McFadden.

One-vehicle accident
A dog jumped onto driver John S. Kennick’s lap, making him unable to turn the wheel of his vehicle while he was on a left-hand curve on Monarch Road, July 7, causing the 61-year-old Leisenring man to hit an embankment, state police said. No injuries were reported.

Sign damaged
State police said someone damaged a “no trespassing” sign belonging to Bonnie Yanero, 71, of Fairmont, West Virginia, at 102 Blosser Hill Road between May 19 and June 24.

One-vehicle accident
State police said driver Nikolas M. Gibson, 17, of Smock lost control of his vehicle on Route 51 while changing lanes at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday because the road was wet. His 2000 Ford Ranger hit a guard rail. The truck was disabled due to damage, and the front tires were ripped off, police said. Gibson was not injured.

Simple assault
State police charged Michael J. Moorby, 47, with simple assault after he allegedly punched Jennifer Torres, 42, of Ohiopyle twice at a Dinnerbell Road residence June 23, causing a lip injury.

State police someone used a suspicious $20 bill to make a purchase at 118 Roberts Road, April 4.

Hit and run
State police are looking for a driver who hit a vehicle parked in Widewater Commons near Dollar General at 3:50 p.m. July 8. A 2007 Mercury Milan had minor damage to its driver-side fender, police said.

Fire ruled arson
State police are investigating a fire at 376 Bunker Hill Road before 11 a.m. July 7 which a fire marshal determined was arson. Police said someone broke into the residence and set a fire, which caused about $2,000 in damage. The property is owned by Larry Rogerson, 72, of Dilliner.
