Defiant trespass
Margaret Scott, 46, was cited for defiant trespass for allegedly violating an order at South Hills Terrace, Tuesday.

Fleeing officers
Brownsville police said Shawn Scott, 23, of Brownsville ran from police and hid in the woods after he was spotted in South Hills Terrace, Tuesday. Police said he had an active bench warrant. A new warrant was issued for defiant trespass and flight to avoid apprehension.

Hit-and-run
Laurenzio Calin, 25, of California was issued five traffic citations for allegedly hitting a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. May 23 and speeding away. California police said neighbors and the vehicle owner identified Calin as the driver.
CALIFORNIA
Prohibited weapon found
California Borough Police charged Cedric D. Jackson, 47, of California with offensive weapons and fleeing or attempting to elude officer after a traffic stop on Zulu Street, May 13. Jackson was found with brass knuckles, police said. He was driving a vehicle belonging to James Zober, 55, of California who was issued a traffic citation for permitting violation of title.

Two-vehicle accident
State police said driver Maggie Morrison, 36, of New Stanton rear-ended driver Megan Jones, 24, of Scottdale while they were both driving north on U.S. 119 May 19. Jones was transported to Uniontown Hospital by Fayette EMS for a possible injury. Morrell volunteer fire department assisted on the scene.

Two-vehicle accident
State police said a Chrsysler hit a Lexus RX while turning left into the Marathon Gas Station on Blackstone Road, May 26. No injuries were reported. Police did not identify the drivers.

DUI checkpoint
State police conducted a sobriety checkpoint May 26 and 27 that resulted in five drivers found to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances, five people found to be in possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia and one driver found with an offensive weapon. Police issued one underage drinking citation, six seatbelt citations, four citations for driving with a suspended license, 14 traffic citations and distributed 23 verbal warnings for minor infractions.

One-vehicle accident
State police said driver Kevin Lindsay, 38, of Uniontown lost control of his vehicle on a curve on Collier Road near Langley Road at about 2 a.m. May 21. He hit several trees and abandoned his car, police said. Police said he suffered minor scratches in the crash.

Two-vehicle accident
Sate police said the driver of a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica rear ended a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was stopped on Morgantown Road at its intersection with Georges Fairchance Road, causing minor damage. No injuries were reported. Police did not identify the drivers.

DUI crash
State police said a driver who crashed on Route 40 at the eastbound entrance to the Hopwood Bypass April 28 was driving under the influence of alcohol. Police did not identify the driver.

Crash in parking lot
State police said driver Devon Ash, 18, of Smithfield backed out of a parking space in the YMCA parking lot and hit a vehicle driven by Scott McCormick, 65, of Uniontown. No injuries were reported.

Criminal mischief
John Yocum reported to Uniontown police Monday that he was hit in the head by a rock and the windshied of his vehicle was damaged while it was parked at 147 Connellsville St.

Juvenile charged with theft
Uniontown police said they cited a 13-year-old boy with retail theft after he allegedly attempted to steal five beef jerky packages with a total value of $11.25 from Marathon gas station.
