Four Republican state senators, including Pat Stefano of Bullskin Township and Camera Bartolotta of Monongahela, are sponsoring a bill to legalize online gambling in Pennsylvania. What do you think? Would this be a good thing, giving the state some much needed revenues? Or do you think we have enough gambling and shouldn’t legalize anything else?

“Gambling is just a way for the government to take more money from the poor people who see gambling as a way to improve their lives. We don’t need a gambling expansion of any kind.”

“Why does the state need the money. We’re already one of the highest taxed states in the country. Enough is enough.”

“You know you’re disagreeing with Republicans here. That’s a pretty big leap for you.”

“I’m agreeing with conservatives on this issue. It is always the lefties who need more money to waste and steal.”

“Read the first sentence again. It’s Republicans who are pushing this.”

“It’s a very bad tax. It really hurts the poor. It’s just like the lottery. That’s a bad tax too.”

“Years ago when the lottery was first instituted the cash flow to the state was supposed to solve all problems for senior citizens and the people of Pennsylvania. It hasn’t happened yet. But, if the people of Pennsylvania want this, then I say go for it.”

“Why not another Lottery game maybe a pick-50 in the morning and another one in the afternoon. First it was marijuana, and now it’s online gambling. I say neither before legal prostitution.”

“People do it anyway. Why not use it to relieve some of our tax burdens!”

“Legalize online poker. It is a game of strategy not chance like slots or craps.”

“We already have enough gambling. Online gambling will just lead to more problems. It will probably make it even easier for people to get addicted to gambling. I think it’s a terrible idea.”
