Man charged with assault
William Marmie II, 39, of Charleroi is facing simple assault and related charges for allegedly assaulting Shannell Dessell in Upper Speers Friday morning.

Man allegedly kicked officer
Charleroi police arrested Jack Dennis Desellems Jr., 31, of Charleroi after they were called to remove him from a Fallowfield Avenue residence Sunday night. Desellems allegedly ran out the back door before police arrived. He was found in a detached garage in an alley. He allegedly struggled when officers arrested him and kicked Officer John Dytko in the left knee. He was treated at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

Man charged with assaulting dad
Chad Edward Belch, 27, of McClellandtown is facing aggravated assault and related charges for allegedly beating his father, Charles Belch, outside a Collage Avenue residence March 21. He allegedly ran at his father who was on a motorcycle, knocking it onto him. Police said he punched his father, put his hands over his face to cut off his air supply and threatened to kill him. The father was able to escape Belch and call 911. While on the phone, Belch allegedly threatened his father again, saying “Me killing you is like a star about to crash into the earth. There is nothing anyone can do to stop it. I am going to kill you,” according to court documents.

Woman cited
Monessen Police arrested Delisa Melani Maldonado, 20, of Monessen for allegedly stopping her vehicle along High 9th Street and stepping out to confront and fight Lashaundria Gillaspie in the roadway at 6:39 p.m. March 16 and then followed Gillaspie to her home to continue fighting until bystanders stopped her.
Since Maldonado was the antagonist in the situation, she was cited.

DUI arrest
Monessen Police arrested Kyle R. Ross, 44, of Monessen after he allegedly struck a dumpster with his vehicle at Highland Manor while allegedly intoxicated and was driving with a DUI-related license suspension at 2:15 a.m. March 18. Part of the dumpster pierced through the windshield of the vehicle that needed towed from the scene.
The two women in the vehicle refused medical attention, and Ross was not injured.
Charges pending.

Domestic dispute
During an argument between a mother and a son along Sycamore Street at 9:05 p.m. March 15, Monessen Police reported that the son started throwing things around the inside of the house and when his mother told him to stop and then called 911, he kicked the front door and struck his mother’s car with a piece of wood, causing no damage.
The son was cited for disorderly conduct.

Suspected heroin found in car
Monongahela police said Jordan Bercik, 35, of North Charleroi was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after 16 bags of suspected heroin were found in her car during a traffic stop along Park Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said a summons was issued Monday for Bercik to appear in a preliminary hearing at 10:45 a.m. on April 25 before Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson.

Wilkinsburg man charged with assault
Monongahela police charged Paul Lutz, 35, of Wilkinsburg with simple assault after he allegedly grabbed a woman by her wrist and the back of her hair and dragged her across the floor of a residence along Fourth Street in Monongahela on March 21 at 8 p.m. Police said she had red marks on her back and neck but declined hospital treatment. Lutz was placed in the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bond pending a hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Mark WIlson.

Man free on $5,000 bond in assault case
Monongahela police said Gary Brown, 40, of New Eagle was arrested Wednesday night (March 22) on simple assault charges in an incident of domestic violence in which a woman told police he grabbed her by the shoulder and threw her through a bedroom door. Police said the victim declined hospital treatment. Brown is free on $5,000 bond pending a hearing at 10 a.m. on April 6 before Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson.

Rollover accident
State police said driver Frank J. Kostello, 69, of Ruffs Dale was exiting I-70 East March 14 when he hit a curb, causing his vehicle to roll onto a grassy area next to the ramp. No injuries were reported.

State police said someone broKe into a Hunter’s Ridge residence between Friday night and Saturday and stole items belonging to Brandon Franks, 24, including cash and jewelry.

Sex offender charged with rape
Ulysses A. Zimmerman, 34, of Mount Morris, was charged for allegedly raping a woman at a trailer in Mount Morris Jan. 19. He allegedly forced himself on her after she repeatedly asked him to stop. Zimmerman was also charged for failing to update his address in the Megan’s Law database when he moved from the trailer to Mount Morris.
