House Republicans are gathering today to discuss their agenda. It’s their first meeting since House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., abandoned plans last Friday to repeal Obamacare. What do you think Republicans should do about health care? Should they work with Democrats or just forget about it and hope Obamacare collapses on its own? Overall, how big of a setback do you think this was for President Trump?

“It’s a huge setback but don’t worry, Putin will make it right.”

“It tells you everything you need to know about the GOP and this president when they can’t pass their own half-baked plan. Then, they abandon it and hope that the healthcare system for 10 million people just collapses.”

“Elect a clown, expect a circus.”

“Democrats and Republicans need to work together to improve on the ACA to cover more people and keep costs affordable for the people. Trump and the Republicans lost this battle by hastily putting together a flawed health care plan which would have hurt the very people who elected them.”

“I’m not exactly sure why a public official would allow something to collapse when it would adversely affect the health, safety and welfare of the citizenry.

“Trump’s comment angered me. It shows his lack of empathy for the American people. Does he even know what would happen if the ACA collapsed? His rhetoric is borderline idiotic.”

“ACA needs to be refined, not repealed. Congress needs to get its act together and think of the people, not just their party. Republican objections are what forced ACA to be flawed in the first place.”

“It would seem to me that the easy solution would be to offer everyone the same insurance that we give those in office at the same price, which is nothing. Why should we pay for something they get for free? The just doesn’t sound fair to me.”

“Members of Congress are required to enroll in ACA plans, though they receive a subsidy. Most staffers are required to enroll too.”

“You are correct. However, their coverage for the premium paid is ridiculously better than what the average American gets. Their share of the premium is roughly 22-27 percent. That’s a huge savings for them especially considering their coverage is much better. They also make more money than the average citizen so we should be offered the same thing.”

“Trump is allowing Americans to suffer poor medical care because Paul Ryan said mean things about him. Sounds like a real delicate snowflake to me.”

“The Democats will come back begging Trump to fix it. Just wait and see what happens.”
