BEALLSVILLE

Man charged

State police charged Chad A. Stepp, 40, of Marianna with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment Monday related to an alleged assault on Nov. 7. The charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Curtis Thompson, who issued a warrant for Stepp’s arrest.

BENTLEYVILLE

Drug charges filed

Washington County detectives charged Donald K. Riggle, 51, of Bentleyville with possession with the intent to deliver drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday. Authorities alleged he had drugs in his possession at a home in the borough. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Curtis Thompson and confined to the county prison in lieu of $65,000 bond. Detectives filed the same charges against Casey Brink, 35, of Ellsworth, who was also committed to the county prison in lieu of $35,000 bond.

CARROLL TWP.

Woman charged

Brittany Lephew, 26, of Belle Vernon was charged with theft of lost property before Magisterial District Judge Larry Hopkins. Township police alleged the theft occurred on Nov. 11.

LUZERNE TWP.

Liquor law violation

The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Georgio’s Subs & Pizza for allegedly failing to keep records in accordance with liquor laws.

SPRINGHILL TWP.

Crash with injuries

State police said driver John R. Hughes, 34, of Point Marion hit a vehicle driving south on Morgantown Street when he was attempting to turn left onto New Genevia Road at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. The second vehicle was driven by Dolores J. Garcia with passenger Richard L. Garcia, both 70 of Point Marion. All three people were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Teen found with drugs

State police said a 17-year-old Rostraver Township girl was found with marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on State Route 51 near Vernon Drive at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

DUI Checkpoint

State police will conduct sobriety checkpoints at two locations over Thanksgiving and the following weekend. The checkpoint locations were established based on data from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and other sources that indicate high levels of DUI activity.
