Connellsville 3, Laurel Highlands 0 – Laurel Highlands put up a strong fight in the first game but then Connellsville was in control the rest of the night in sweeping the Fillies, 3-0, in a non-section girls volleyball match on Thursday night.

The Lady Falcons survived that first game, 25-23, before putting LH away by scores of 25-18 and 25-15.

Sara Ellis chalked up 26 assists for Connellsville (2-0) and Maggie Means contributed 34 digs. The Lady Falcons also got six blocks apiece from Morgan Domer and Elli Cook, four aces from Lauren Bubarth and two blocks from Sami Hileman.

Connellsville returns to the floor Tuesday night when it hosts Latrobe.
