LH strikes first but falls in girls’ soccer action to EF, 4-2

Laurel Highlands scored the first goal, but Elizabeth Forward rallied for a 4-2 victory in Section 2-AAA on Saturday at Mustang Field in girls’ soccer action.

Abby Beatty’s goal at 26:25 of the first half provided the Fillies (1-1, 3-1-1) with a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Warriors (2-0, 2-1) took a 2-1 advantage at halftime after goals by Natalie Beinlich (15:51) and Nola McGuire (8:48).

Erica Tarr’s tally at 35:58 of the second half tied the game at 2-2 before Ashley Thaxton netted the game winner at 18:39. EF added an insurance goal.

Laurel Highlands returns to the pitch on Monday when it travels to cross-town rival Uniontown (0-1, 0-4). The Section 2-AAA match at Bill Power Stadium is set to kickoff at 7 p.m.

Elizabeth Forward looks to continue its winning ways on Monday when it hosts Greensburg Salem (0-1, 0-2) in a section match at 7:30 p.m.
