Retail theft
Michael Crosby, 50, of Uniontown was charged with retail theft for allegedly attempting to steal an item from Family Dollar, March 31. Connellsville police said an employee confronted him, and he ran from the store.

Disorderly conduct
Connellsville police were called to McDonald’s on March 24 for a report of juveniles causing a disturbance March 24 by yelling racial slurs and profanities and jumping on tables. Police said employees asked them to leave multiple times before they left. Police reviewed the surveillance footage and identified the teens. They were identified as three 16-year-old Connellsville boys and a 14-year-old Uniontown boy.

Escape reported
Shawn Prince, 21, of Connellsville was taken into custody after police said he escaped into the river and was rescued by a river rescue boat Saturday. Connellsville police were called to assist a constable at Honey Bear gas station. Prince was wanted on warrants. Police took him into custody. As he was being walked into the police station, he began running from the constable. Prince allegedly ran onto railroad property, jumped over a wall and into the river. He began to struggle in the water, and officers called New Haven Hose fire department and Fayette EMS. Officers threw a rope to Prince and held him above water until the fire department arrived. The fire department launched a rescue boat and pulled him to safety. He was then taken into custody again. He is charged with escape, defiant trespass, resisting arrest, disrupting train operations and disorderly conduct.

Theft reported
Olivia Rusinack, 19, of Fairchance was charged for allegedly stealing a $1,500 check from a 71-year-old family member on Luzerne Avenue at about noon March 26.

Simple assault
Faith C. Sanner, 26, of Uniontown was charged with simple assault for allegedly clawing Kyle Egan of Uniontown on the arm, shoulder and back and about 12:15 a.m. Saturday at their 522 Village of Searights apartment.

Crash with injury
State police said Cinda R. Hardin, 65, of Uniontown was driving at a high rate of speed on Brownsfield Lane and crashed into a utility police near Ridgeview Drive at about 11:30 p.m. March 18.
