DUI crash
State police said a driver admitted to smoking marijuana 20 minutes before crashing into a light pole at the intersection of Route 119 and Route 982 driving about 60 miles per hour at about 9:10 a.m. March 22.
CONNELLSVILLE TWP.
Crash with injuries
State police said two drivers were flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a head-on collision on Springfield Pike in front of Nicholson Lumber Yard at about 11:15 a.m. March 22. The first driver, who police said admitted he was under the influence of narcotics, passed another vehicle while cresting a hill traveling south at 65 miles per hour and went airborne into the opposing lane of traffic, hitting another vehicle which was traveling 20 miles per hour. Police did not identify the drivers in the release.

Hit-and-run probed
A driver hit the right curb of North Morgantown Street at about 2:50 p.m. Saturday, causing disabling damage to a Chrysler Seabreeze which was found in the driveway of 21 N. Morgantown St. The driver fled the scene, police said. The car was towed by Karnuts Towing.

Strangulation
State police said a 17-year-old boy grabbed a victim by the throat and pushed him into a vice at 240 Arona Road at about noon March 26.

DUI charged
State police said Susan E. Colbert, 39, of Uniontown was found to be driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Sheetz on West Main Street at about 4 a.m. March 11. Police said she was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

DUI crash
State police Henry C. Jackson, 29, of Merritstown was driving under the influence of a controlled substance when he hit a guide rail along U.S. 119 near the Pittsburgh Road exit at about 3:30 a.m. March 11. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while blood-alcohol content is .02 or greater while license is suspended and two counts of DUI.

DUI charged
State police said driver Tirik D. Thomas, 28, of Brownsville was found to be under the influence of alcohol in the area of 431 1st St., Continental 2, at about 2:45 a.m. March 23. He was charged with two counts of DUI.
