The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Catherine Saluga of Cardale, a junior at Brownsville Area High School as a student of the month for March.

A daughter of Mary Saluga and Jeff Mosher, she plans to Pittsburgh Vo-Tech Institute to study pre-veterinary with the career goal of being a veterinary technician.

Saluga is involved in the extracurricular activities at Brownsville Area, including being president of the environmental club and she participates in soccer and the Upward Bound Program.

Saluga received the Women in Science Day Award at Seton Hill and has work experience at Dairy Queen.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities, and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s Education Council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the Students of the Month Dinner in April.

The Brownsville Area Students of the Month (second semester) were sponsored by the Dellarose Law Firm.
