Eitner, Melvin help lift Red Raiders over LH in track, 75-57
Uniontown boys 75, Laurel Highlands 57 – David Eitner and Isaiah Melvin each won two events as Uniontown defeated host Laurel Highlands, 75-57, in a Section 2-AAA boys track and field meet on Tuesday.
Eitner took first in the shot put (41-2) and javelin (154-8) while Melvin was victorious in the 400 (56.6) and 300 intermediate hurdles (42.6).
Brendan Kopich and Simon Kusniar were double-winner for the Mustangs, with Kopich breaking the tape first in the 1,600 (5:00.5) and 800 (2:11.5), and Kusniar placing first in the triple jump (38-6) and the long jump (16-6).
Other winners for the Red Raiders were Reginald Grooms in the 200 (24.0) and Sam Killinger in the 3,200 (11:17). Uniontown also won the 3,200 relay and the 400 relay.
Other winners for LH were Junior Salauca in the 110 high hurdles (15.7), Miguel Brumfield in the 100 (11.5) and Colby Davis in the discus (95-3). The Mustangs also won the 1,600 relay.
