The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Kristen Hartz of Perryopolis, a junior at Frazier High School, as a student of the month for March.
A daughter of James and Tammy Hartz, she plans to attend California University of Pennsylvania to study in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field.
Hartz is a member of the National Honor Society, Penn State 4.0 Club and has received a Presidential Award for Academics.
She is involved in the extracurricular activities at Frazier, including track and field, ecology club, robotics club, health careers club and student government.
Hartz has participated in the Relay for Life, is a dancer at Betsy’s Dance Center and participates in kickboxing at the Octane Mixed Martial Arts Center.
Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities, and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s Education Council. They were presented a recognition certificate at the Students of the Month Dinner in April.
The Frazier Students of the Month (second semester) were sponsored by the Robert Jubin Jr. Agency.
