Rafail, Rankin double-winners as Fillies roll past AG in track

Laurel Highlands girls 95, Albert Gallatin 16 – Maliyah Rafail and Tara Rankin each won a pair of events as Laurel Highlands rolled past visiting Albert Gallatin in a Section 2-AAA girls track and field meet on Tuesday.

Rafail won the 100 (13.6) and 200 (27.7), while Rankin took first in the 1,600 and 3,200 (14:21).

Other winners for the Fillies were Autumn Buchheit in the 100 high hurdles (18.0), Sydney Chiado in the long jump (15-1), Emily Buwawa in the shot put (30-1) and Angel Buwawa in the discus (83-6). LH also swept all three relays.

Among the winners for the Lady Colonials were Jackie Kirby in the 400 (1:11.3), Odessa Hillard in the javelin (107-4) and Pam McKnight in the 800 (4:10).
