Truck into house

A Knob Road resident was injured when his truck hit a home, damaging the house at about 7:20 p.m. Sunday, police said. James George Huba, 39, of Brownsville was arrested after the incident stemming from an argument with his wife at about 7:20 p.m. Sunday at 274 Knob Road, according to California Borough Police. He allegedly injured her, sped away in his truck and lost control of his vehicle on a sharp turn, hitting a Knob Road house and causing “a large amount” of structural damage. He allegedly ran on foot into the woods. California and other neighboring police departments located him, and he surrendered peacefully. A breathalyzer indicated his blood-alcohol content was 0.16 percent, police said. He is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, recklessly endangering another person, accident involving damage to attended property and two counts each of DUI and simple assault.

DUI charged

Joshua D. Pajerski, 46, of California was charged with DUI after he was stopped on Malden Road at its intersection with Ellsworth Street at about 11:30 p.m. June 2. California Borough Police said a blood draw indicated he had a 0.265 percent blood-alcohol content.

Lawn mower stolen

State police said someone stole a lawn mower from a 36-year-old Uniontown man at 527 Walnut Hill Road sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

Scam reported

State police said a 32-year-old Uniontown woman was scammed by a caller claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House, saying she was a grand prize winner and told her to send $350 to ensure she received the money Saturday. The woman realized it was a hoax and reported it after sending the money.

DUI charged

John R. Campbell, 51, of Perryopolis was charged with DUI after a traffic stop for a traffic violation at about 9:20 p.m. July 9. Police said he displayed signs of impairment.

Criminal trespass

Tony J. Baysinger, 44, of Uniontown was arrested for criminal trespass after he allegedly trespassed at Michael Drive at about 2:50 a.m. June 24.
