Marshall scores 30 as Falcons ride big second period to win over Trojans
Shandon Marshall ripped the nets for 30 points and Brownsville used a big second-period to propel it past visiting California, 62-50, in a non-section boys basketball game on Monday night. The Trojans (13-8) led 9-8 after the first period but the Falcons (11-11) outscored California 16-4 in the second to take a 24-13 halftime lead. The Trojans pulled within 37-30 after three quarters but Brownsville put the game away with a 25-20 edge in a high-scoring fourth period. Ben Wilson led California with 19 points and Cochise Ryan added 13. Nick Seto and Phil Pace followed Marshall with 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Falcons. Both teams have qualified for the WPIAL playoffs.
