Garrett Brown Applause
The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Garrett Brown of Fairchance, a junior at Albert Gallatin High School, as a student of the month for January.
A son of Matt Brown and Jamie Brown, he plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and Johns Hopkins University to major in biology and minor in theater with the career goal of becoming a nuclear medicine physician or a neurosurgeon.
His community involvement includes Summer at the State/Community Theater, Feed Fayette in Uniontown, the Boy Scouts of America and the Youth Group at Abundant Life Church.
Brown is involved in the extracurricular activities at Albert Gallatin, including Academic League, drama club, choir, debate team and Young Astronauts Club.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Penn State 4.0 Club.
Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities, and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s Education Council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the Students of the Month Dinner in April.
The Albert Gallatin Students of the Month (second semester) were sponsored by Laurel Caverns.
