The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce recently honored Katlyn Massey of Fayette City, a junior at Frazier High School, as a student of the month for January.

A daughter of Jules and Lorrie Massey, she is undecided about the post-secondary school she will attend, but plans to major in biology with the career goal of working in the field of genetic counseling.

She is a children’s ministry volunteer at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Uniontown.

She is involved in the extracurricular activities at Frazier, including the concert band and the Quarterbacks for Life Leadership Program.

Massey is a member of the National Honor Society, has received National Junior Honor Society Honor Cords and two Presidential Awards.

Elected by their schools based on academic achievement, extra curricular activities, and citizenship, students of the month are honored by the chamber’s Education Council. They will be presented a recognition certificate at the Students of the Month Dinner in April.

The Frazier Students of the Month (second semester) were sponsored by the Robert Jubin, Jr. Agency.
