CALIFORNIA

Simple assault

Zharia M. Mourning, 20, of Pittsburgh was charged with simple assault for allegedly assaulting a woman at 222 Vulcan Village at about 9:30 p.m. May 9. California Borough Police allege Mourning knocked on the woman’s door, asked her if she knew a certain male and began punching her, causing injury when she responded, “Yes.”

CALIFORNIA

Disorderly house

John R. Beattie Jr., 24, of Rices Kanding and Dante Sarra, 23, of Waynesburg were cited for allegedly violating the borough’s house ordinance by hosting a large party with unreasonable noise just before midnight May 4 at 193 Beazzell St., according to California Borough Police.

Disorderly house

California Borough Police cited Tyler R. Eritz, 21, of Oakdale for allegedly breaking the borough’s disorderly house ordinance by hosting a large party making unreasonable noise with reports of fighting just before midnight May 4 at 234 Union St.

Disorderly house

Ricardo Camacho, 22, of Parkersburg was cited for allegedly violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance by hosting a large party with reports of people fighting at a fraternity house at 649 Park St. at about 12:30 a.m. May 4.

CALIFORNIA

Man charged

Jonathan G. Boyle, 37, of Claridge was charged with terroristic threats, three counts of resisting arrest and a summary count of public drunkenness for an alleged incident at Signatures Bistro just before 7 p.m. Saturday. California Borough Police alleged Boyle caused a disturbance and refused service at the restaurant. He allegedly threatened police when they arrived.

CONNELLSVILLE

Stolen vehicle

Connellsville police cited Justin Thomas and Corey Morrison, both 18 of Connellsville, for allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle from Race Street, April 23. The victims reported they accidentally left their keys in the vehicle the night before and awoke to find it was stolen. Police said they learned Thomas and Morrison were in the area attempting to steal items from vehicles. Police said they found the keys and took the vehicle joyriding for two days, destroying it in the process. They were found April 24 driving the vehicle in Bullskin Township, according to police. They reportedly confessed to police they stole the vehicle and damaged it.

CONNELLSVILLE

Click it or Ticket

Connellsville police will be participating in the national “Click it or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement initiative through June 3, police said. Drivers are reminded drivers and passengers must buckle up, children under 4 must use an approved child safety seat, children 4 to 8 must use a booster seat, and children under 2 must use a rear-facing safety seat. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation data shows 14,992 unrestrained crashes resulted in 408 fatalities in 2016.

EAST HUNTINGDON TWP.

Firearm stolen

State police said someone stole a firearm belonging to Charles Fetter, 46, of Mount Pleasant while it was parked in a parking area on Buckeye Road at its intersection with Weinman Road sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. May 4.

GERMAN TWP.

Canoe stolen

State police said someone stole a canoe belonging to a 47-year-old man while it was in his 225 Hill St. yard between May 5 and 6.

MOUNT PLEASANT TWP.

Cellphone stolen

State police said someone stole an iPhone 5 belonging to a 50-year-old man from his vehicle while it was parked at 145 Royal St. between midnight and 5 a.m. April 26.

NORTH UNION TWP.

Two-vehicle crash

State police said a 2006 Nissan Sentra driver with a suspended license hit a 2016 Dodge Dart on National Pike at its intersection with Hopwood Fairchance Road at about 3 a.m. Sunday. Police did not identify either driver. The cars were in adjacent lanes, and the Dodge was stopped at a red light, according to police.

Domestic violence

Christopher L. Bailey, 36, of Oliver is charged with disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of children and resisting arrest for an alleged domestic disturbance at 95 Seamans Road at about 11:45 p.m. March 2.

SPRINGFIELD TWP.

Hit-and-run

State police said an unidentified driver veered off the left side of the road while apparently driving south on Johnson Lane near its intersection with Breakneck Road and hit a metal fence at 12:27 p.m. May 6.
