Parked truck struck

State police said a 2003 Ford F150 legally parked on Filmore Street was struck in the side by an unknown vehicle at 10:35 p.m. May 23.

Police seize 45 lbs. marijuana from car

State police said approximately 45 lbs. of marijuana was seized during a traffic stop on Route 70 East in Rostraver Township at 2:57 a.m. May 25. State police said the vehicle with Colorado plates, which turned out to be a rental car, was stopped for erratic driving near Exit 43 and troopers searched the vehicle after detecting a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. The alleged marijuana was located in three large duffel bags. According to police, Aldo J. Corniel, 34 and Jens K. Stoltze, 47, both of New York, NY, were arrested.

Theft alleged

State police said Leonard R. Karpel Jr., 39, of Lemont Furnace was charged with retail theft after he allegedly took several food items from Sheetz on West Main Street on May 6. Police said video surveillance in the store showed Karpel taking the items, and an exterior camera caught the license plate of the car in which he left.

Motorcycle, SUV collide

State police said a 2016 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra and a 2004 Ford Expedition collided on West Main Street at 10:49 a.m. May 25. According to police, the accident occurred as the motorcycle exited the Sunoco parking lot attempting to make a left on Main Street and the SUV braked, but was unable to stop before striking the bike. Both vehicles sustained minor damaged. No injuries were reported.

SPRINGHILL TWP.

Vehicle suspected stolen

State police said a gray 2012 Dodge Charger was reported stolen or missing by its owner, Allison E. Kalp of Connellsville from Springhill Furnace Road in Springhill Township. Police said the car was left on the side of the road at 9 p.m. on May 20 because it was broken down, and when Kalp returned at 5 p.m. May 22, the car was not where she left it. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact state police Uniontown at 724-439-7111.
