Quarzo leads Lady Falcons to victory
Brownsville girls 25, Fort Cherry 30; Brownsville 15, Chartiers-Houston 50; Brownsville 15, California 50; Brownsville 15, Washington 50. Chartiers-Houston 17 boys, Brownsville 40; Washington 25, Brownsville 30; California 27, Brownsville 29; Fort Cherry 20, Brownsville 36 – Gionna Quarzo finished fourth overall and first in the girls race to lead Brownsville to four Division II, Section 2 victories on Tuesday at Brownsville in cross country action.
Quarzo finished in 18:48 and California’s Makayla Boda was 21:53 to take second. The Lady Falcons’ Hannah DeWitt was third in 22:18 and Ashton Reposky placed fourth in 23:25.
The Lady Rangers’ Angela Lucarini came in 23:58 and Emma Blickender finished in 24:44.
California’s Bre Trusler was seventh in 25:16. Fort Cherry’s Jillian Panizza (25:23), Lindsay Bracall (26:35) and McKenzie Faure (26:40) rounded out the top 10. The Lady Trojans’ Deja Walker (27:09) and Emma Sprowls (27:42) finished in 11th and 12th.
Brownsville’s Mila Zaccagnini (28:02), Jade Winans (28:29) and Blake DeCarlo (28:37) closed out the top 15. The Lady Falcons improved to 9-1 in section and overall play.
California’s Charles Roberts won the overall race by over one minute in 16:59. Chartiers-Houston’s Matt Clark (18:03) and Angel Fernandez (18:33) came in second and third.
Forth Cherry’s Henry Karn (18:53) and Nathaniel Gasie (18:56) finished in fourth and fifth.
The Little Prexies’ Ethan Fine came in sixth at 19:07. The Buccaneers’ Alex Siege was seventh in 19:19 and Ryan Jardine came in eighth at 19:20.
The Falcons’ Nick Seto was ninth in 19:24. The Rangers’ Lee Henke rounded out the top 10 in 19:32. Brownsville’s Ray Brumley was 11th in 19:36.
The Trojans’ Josh Gwyn finished in 20:21 and teammate Kolby Kent came in at 20:24.
Brownsville’s Noah Diggs came in at 20:29 and Brian Boyd at 21:26.
Mason Kent (22:32), Matt Shimko (22:43) and Jay Danek (23:42) rounded out California’s top five. The Falcons’ Camden Harvey finished at 24:09. Brownsville fell to 3-7 in section and overall play.
