Fayette CTI special meeting produces auto mechanics hire
GEORGES TWP. — The Fayette County Career and Technical Institute (FCCTI) hired a teacher at a recent special meeting of the school’s joint operating committee.
The committee voted 8-0 to hire Ronald Aldridge as a full-time auto mechanics instructor. The position was vacant due to a resignation in August.
Those voting in favor of the hiring were Ed Colebank, Paul Dunham, Gary Seelye, Richard Gates, Beverly Beal, Melvyn Sepic, Susan Clay and Dorothy Grahek.
Four members of the committee were absent from the meeting. They were Michael Dunham, Ron Dellarose Jr., Jamie Miller-D’Andrea and Bill Collier.
The hiring of a full-time auto mechanics instructor was initially on the agenda at the committee’s Sept. 24 voting meeting, but that motion was unanimously tabled.
At the time, solicitor Gary Frankhouser from Davis and Davis Attorneys at Law in Uniontown said the committee questioned whether certain candidates for the position possessed all of the required qualifications and committee members wanted to resolve that uncertainty before voting.
