McGuffey led 14-3 at halftime, and the Highlanders maintained the advantage in the second half Friday night for a 34-9 victory over visiting Brownsville in Interstate Conference action.

Christian Clutter scored on runs of 55, 13 and 2 yards for McGuffey (5-0, 7-0). He also scored on a 10-yard pass from Marshall Whipkey.

Whipkey threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to CJ Cole in the second quarter.

Eli Ruffcorn hit a 26-yard field goal for the Falcons (0-4, 0-7) in the first half. Hunter Assad closed the scoring in the fourth quarter with 15-yard touchdown pass to Vandel Page.

Danny Grant gained 44 yards rushing on 10 carries for Brownsville. Page finished with 34 yards on the ground.

Assad completed 4-of-8 passes for 83 yards, including a 52-yard completion to Caleb Olesko.
