Mila Zaccagnini Applause

Brownsville Rotary Club recently honored Mila Zaccagnini of Brownsville as its February student of the month.

A daughter of Traci and Richard Zaccagnini, she is a senior at Brownsville Area High School.

Zaccagnini has been involved in several school clubs, including student council, student forum, homecoming committee, ski club, Interact Club, Reading Buddies, Tri-Hi-Y, Environmental Club, The Future is Mine, National Honor Society, French National Honor Society and Senior Cabinet.

She was president of her sophomore class, secretary of Student Forum her junior year, and secretary of student council her senior year.

Along with participating in many of the school clubs, Zaccagnini is an academic student athlete. She was a member of the soccer team her freshman year, a member of the track and field team her sophomore year, and a member of the varsity cross country team her sophomore, junior, and senior years.

While running cross country, Zaccagnini was a WPIAL qualifier two years in a row. Her junior year, she was part of the state team and ran at the Cross Country State Championship in Hershey.

Throughout all four years of her high school career, Zaccagnini has kept her status on the honor roll.

Zaccagnini was employed at the Brownsville Dairy Queen her junior year, and then went on to be employed at the Brownsville McDonald’s her junior and senior years.

Outside of school, Zaccagnini enjoys running and baby sitting her niece, Tatum.

Zaccagnini is committed to West Virginia University’s School of Medicine where she plans to major in exercise physiology to pursue a career as a sports medicine physician.
