Copper wire stolen

State police at Uniontown are investigating the left of copper wire from telephone poles back on Feb. 12, along Bellview and Narrows Road in Bullskin Township. According to police, the actors cut down multiple neutral copper wires between electric poles at 8 p.m. and fled the scene. Police are searching for a white vehicle, which may have been involved in the incident. The value of the copper wire stolen totaled $13,500.

GEORGES TWP

DUI arrest

State police at Uniontown have charged Jeffrey Gerhardt, 55, of Smock, with driving under the influence of alcohol, after he was stopped for speeding at 9 p.m. Feb. 18, in his 1993 Chevrolet Silverado on Route 43 S/Collier Road in Georges Township. Charges were filed with District Judge Dan Shimshock.

NORTH UNION TWP

Subs stolen

State police at Uniontown are investigating a retail theft that occurred at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Subway restaurant on Pittsburgh Street in North Union Township. Police report that the actor, a white male, ordered two turkey and ham subs and then attempted to pay with a suspected counterfeit $100 bill. After the cashier refused the payment, the took the bill back and left the store without paying for the two subs. Amount of theft was estimated at $10.58.

PERRY TWP

Disturbance reported

State police at Belle Vernon are investigating a disturbance call at 5:20 p.m. Friday, at a residence on Tony Row Road in Perry Township. According to police, Deay Balchick, 54, and Timothy Balchick, 28, both of Star Junction, were arguing over the discipline of a 7-year-old child.

POINT MARION

Attempted truck theft

State police at Uniontown are investigating the attempted theft of a pickup truck at 11:20 a.m. Thursday from Family Dollar on Penn Street in Point Marion. According to police, Isaac George, 21, of Dilliner, allegedly entered an unlocked blue 2013 Ford F-150XLT, belonging to Danny King, 57, of Lake Lynn, started it and began to drive away. When King came out of the store and saw what was happening, he yelled at George who stopped the truck and was physically removed from the cab by King. George then fled the scene on foot, but was stopped by King’s family. Police report that George was visibly intoxicated, yelling and caused a disturbance. He was charged and placed in the Fayette County Jail.
