Belle Vernon 105, Southmoreland 45 — The Leopards defeated Southmoreland, 105-45, to open the season Tuesday with a non-section road victory.

The Leopards’ Hunter Martin picked up right where he left off last spring with first-place finishes in the 110 high hurdles (15.4), 300 intermediate hurdles (42.0), long jump (20-4), and triple jump (40-3).

Dane Anden won the 200 meters in 25 seconds. Jake Sepesky broke the tape first in the 800 with a time of 2:16. Noah Lehner finished first in the 3,200 (11:53).

Mav Selvoski, Anden, Nic Smaracheck and Isaac Evans won the 400 relay in 45.4 seconds, while Seth Yankosky, Preston Hunt, Selvoski and Evans finished first in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:58.

Hunter Meade, Lehner, Sepesky and Evans completed the sweep of the relays by winning the 3,200 relay in 9:02.

Jesse Herron had the longest throw in the javelin (122-4), as did Ryan Marek in the discus (127).
