Christopher has a hand in four touchdowns to lead Mustangs over Indiana, 42-6
Tyler Christopher had a hand in four touchdowns in Laurel Highlands’ 42-6 Big Eight Conference victory over Indiana on Friday at Indiana.
The Mustangs’ quarterback had two rushing touchdowns, one passing and one receiving as Laurel Highlands improved to 2-4 in conference play and 2-7 overall.
Christopher ran for 88 yards on 14 carries with a long of 34. He threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Rodney Gallagher, who pulled in three receptions for 37 yards. Christopher caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Robbie Sleightor and ran in a two-point conversion.
Gallagher rushed for 72 yards on four carries with a long of 46. Teammate Riley Bosley rushed for 69 yards on 19 carries and a long of 29.
The Mustangs forced and recovered four fumbles, as Gallagher, Sleightor, Garrey Gardner and Ronnie Romesburg pounced on the loose footballs. Sleightor’s fumble recovery was in the end zone for a touchdown.
Aaron Huey had eight tackles, including one for a loss, to pace LH’s defense. Laurel Highlands kicker Zak Layton made four PATs.
The Mustangs host Trinity (2-4, 2-6) in their season finale this Friday at Mustang Field.
