Keffer scores 26 in Scotties’ 76-50 win at Frazier
Taryn Bateman and Malana Burton both finished with double-doubles Monday night in Frazier’s 72-32 non-section victory over Sto-Rox.
Bateman scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Burton finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Allie Yauch scored a game-high 22 points in the victory and Chloe Harger added 14.
Beth-Center 45, Mapletown 25 – The Lady Bulldogs led 22-12 at halftime and steadily pulled away for a non-section road win at Mapletown.
Elizabeth Trump paced Beth-Center with 16 points. Lauren Brown scored 12 and Emma Shashura added 11.
Isabella Garnek had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Maples.
Canon-McMillan 53, Albert Gallatin 23 – The Lady Colonials fell behind in the first quarter and were unable to recover in a non-section road loss.
Canon-McMillan led 22-6 after the first quarter and 36-11 at halftime.
Mya Glisan (10), Grayce Panos (9), and Mikayla Shea (4) accounted for all of Albert Gallatin’s points.
Nadia Davis scored a game-high 19 points for Canon-McMillan. Lauren Borella (14) and Sam Miller (12) also finished in double figures.
Laurel Highlands 57, Brownsville 33 – Miya Harris hit six 3-pointers, including five in the first half, to lead visiting Laurel Highlands to a non-section win at Brownsville.
Harris scored a game-high 33 points for Laurel Highlands (3-0). Ayrianna Sumpter and Aierra Jenkins both finished with nine points. Jenkins pulled down eight rebounds and Sumpter grabbed six. Taylor Schwertfeger added seven points.
Zhariah Reed paced the Lady Falcons (2-1) with 16 points.
Waynesburg Central 72, Carmichaels 25 – Four Lady Raiders finished in double figures in a non-section road win at Carmichaels.
Kaley Rohanna led the way for Waynesburg (3-0) with a game-high 28 points. Emma Kindervater (15), Addison Blair (10), and Avery Davis (10) also scored double digits.
Alayna Symon scored nine points and Megan Voithofer finished with eight for the Lady Mikes (0-3).
Boys basketball
Southmoreland 76, Frazier 50 – Ty Keffer scored a game-high 26 points to lead the visiting Scotties to a 76-50 non-section victory at Frazier.
Southmoreland held leads of 28-10, 49-25 and 65-39 at the quarter breaks.
Wyatt Richter and Ronnie Collins both scored 14 for the Scotties, and Noah Felentzer added 12.
Darian Bateman led the Commodores (0-3) with 14 points. Brock Alekson added 13 points.
Men’s basketball
Saint Vincent 88, Penn State Fayette 75 – The undefeated Bearcats led throughout the game, handing the visiting Lions a non-conference road loss.
Jaden Gales paced Saint Vincent (7-0) with 22 points. Mike Iuzzolino (17), Dev Ostrowski (15), and Osyon Jones (10) also scored in double figures for the Bearcats.
Penn State Fayette’s Torian Jenkins had a double-double with 34 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Forbes scored 17 points and Dasilas Jones finished with 11.
