Iceburgh of the Pittsburgh Penguins will be visiting Kids Fest this weekend at Washington Crown Center.

The Observer-Reporter will host its eighth annual Kids Fest on Saturday at Washington Crown Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A family-friendly, free event, it will include visits with exotic animals from the Wild World of Animals, singalong with Royal Princess Engagements, a performance from the Washington High School Steel Drum Band, healthy and interactive activities from Washington Health System and the WHS Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center, food trucks, shopping and more.

New this year is a children’s entrepreneur market, a market run entirely by kids.

“We are excited to once again host Kids Fest,” said Jessica Tennant, events manager for the Observer-Reporter. “This is a family-friendly event that all ages can enjoy.”

Special appearances also are planned by Iceburgh of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jalapeno Hannah and the Pirate Parrot of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and they will be participating in a Mascot Mashup race.

Additional information is available by contacting Tennant at 724-223-2632 or by sending an email message to jtennant@observer-reporter.com. Updates on Kids Fest are available at facebook.com/KidsFestWashPA.
