Joan Giovanna Benucci Brosky, 92, of Republic, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born October 15, 1931, in Republic, a daughter of Ralph and Fernanda Baldi Benucci.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Tom” Brosky, Jr. May 26, 2000; siblings, Theresa Battaglini, Marie March, and Orlando Benucci.
Joan was a member of the former Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church of Republic and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She was a member of the Republic American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Republic Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a former part-time employee of the Republic Post Office and served as an aide for the Brownsville Area School District.
Joan’s main love was her complete devotion to her family, caregiver to her parents, her sister, Theresa, and her in-laws, John and Nellie Brosky. Joan was a very devoted and loving “Nonnie”, who cared deeply for her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, John T. Brosky, III and wife Robin of Republic, Richard D. Brosky, Sr. and wife Barb of Republic, and Jeffrey A. Brosky and wife Melanie of East Millsboro; grandsons, Richie and wife Erica, Stephen, Justin and wife Destiny, Nathaniel, Brandon, Dylan, and Cameron; and great- granddaughters, Lorynn, Bailey, Daniyah, and Jaylani; nieces, Debbie, Lori, Jackie, Maria, and Gina; special friends, Henry, Gladys, and April Books.
Joan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Mount Macrina Manor and Amedisys Hospice of Uniontown.
Joan’s family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 2, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, February 3, when a blessing service will be held, with Fr. Efren Ambre officiating, in the KISH-FABRY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 19 Legion Steet, Republic. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. The Republic Volunteer Fire Company will conduct services at 7 p.m. Friday.
