Students show off projects at Marclay Elementary science fair

Students at Marclay Elementary School, which is located in Markleysburg and is part of the Uniontown Area School District, had an opportunity to show off their talents and aptitudes for science at the school’s first science fair this past January. The science fair was sponsored by the Marclay Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and organized by the PTO with assistance of the third-, fourth- and fifth-grade teachers. All students who participated received passes to the Carnegie Science Center. Medals were awarded to the winners: third-grade model: Sadie Hostetler, first place; Grant Brambly, second place; Rylan Jeffreys; third place; fourth-grade experiment: Lillian Hoover, first place; Charity Dolan, second place; Maggie Campbell, third place; fourth-grade model: Sarah Hilliard, first place; Zylah Butler, second place; fifth-grade experiment: Maiya Rugg, first place; fifth-grade model: Alexis Tennant, first place; Mason Maroski, second place; Kynzie Teets, third place.
