Fish fries help fund fire companies, churches
Crews were working to restore water service to parts of Waynesburg Tuesday afternoon after a contractor struck a water line. The leak occurred around 3 p.m. Tuesday, the Southwestern PA Water Authority said on its website. A “large part” of the Waynesburg area was affected by the leak, SPWA said. Crews were working to close valves and restore water pressure to customers east of West Waynesburg, Greene County Emergency Management said in a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon. The department did not indicate when repairs would be completed.

The “Dodge for a Cause” dodgeball tournament is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday at the Uniontown YMCA. All proceeds will go to the Ks Foundation, which began in July 2025. The foundation, started by Kia Rose, a 2013 graduate of Uniontown Area High School, covers registration for youth sports for families that make $49,000 or less yearly. The focus is currently on children in Fayette County, but the hope is to expand the foundation’s reach.
