Three Indianapolis men are accused of conspiring to steal money by breaking into cash machines 27 times across southwestern Pennsylvania over a three-month period. Charges were filed against the three men — Kavon Carter, 24; Demarkis Bartlett, 28; and Tony Edwards, 22 — in Fayette County Wednesday. Between December 2024 and February 2025, they allegedly committed 27 burglaries across Fayette, Greene, Washington, Allegheny, Erie, Butler and Venango counties. Police said the restitution needed to cover the thefts and damages would be more than $83,000, with the dollar amounts of multiple burglaries still to be determined, according to the complaint. A federal jury this week decided in favor of an SCI-Greene inmate who said he had been subjected to cruel and unusual punishment after being held in solitary confinement for 50 days in a section reserved for mentally ill inmates. Maurice Able, 43, filed suit in the Western District of Pennsylvania in 2018.
