St. Cecilia Church is holding a “Bag and Bling” event at the Brownsville Sons of Italy, 16 Race St., Brownsville, on Sunday, Oct 26 at noon. To purchase a ticket, contact the parish office at 724-785-7781. Cost is $25.

There will be a hymn sing held at Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. It is open to the public.

Masontown Community Kitchen will be open Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The menu will be chili served over rice or macaroni, homemade desserts and breads. The kitchen is open every other Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown. Meals are free, but donations are accepted and are used for future meals. A flea market will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Dawson Grange building, 110 Chinatown Road, Dawson. Proceeds benefit the annual Dawson Grange Fair.

Allison Christian Church, 452 East Ave., Allison, is holding youth group meetings on Sundays, Nov. 2 and 16 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Young people from any denomination are welcome.

4 C Ministry of the Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic will be open for the public to come and purchase new and gently used clothing and household supplies on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Carmichaels Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 104 W. South St. Carmichaels. Kadie Baker from BLUEPRINTS will be the guest speaker. Members are reminded to bring items for the troops and scratch-off lottery tickets for “All Things Christmas.” New members are welcome.

The meeting for the Brownsville Area Ministerial Association will hold its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Allison Christian Church, 452 East Ave., Allison.

The local Christian Women’s Connection will hold the November luncheon on Wednesday Nov. 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Mallard’s Landing at Duck Hollow Golf Club, 374 Duck Hollow Road, Uniontown. Kelly Trott from Uniontown will discuss her blog “Adventures with Kelly.” Carol LeBeau from Charleston, W. Va., will also speak. Jen Crable from Uniontown is the vocalist. Cost is $24. There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville from 11 a.m. to noon. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food. Families wishing to sign up on the distribution day will need to bring photo identification, the date of birth of each person in the household, and verification of address.

Help is needed with unloading the food bank truck at First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Friday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. The food bank is on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

There will be a blood drive at the First Christian Church of Brownsville, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767.

The Mon Valley Academy for the Arts Community Christmas Choir concerts will be on Friday, Nov. 28 at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center in downtown Brownsville and Sunday, Dec. 14 at Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville. Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock is sponsoring “Loads of Love” at the Mod Laundromat, 503 Union St., Brownsville on Sunday, Nov. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who need help paying for laundry costs are invited to do their laundry at this time.

Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club is accepting donations for its Wreaths Across America campaign through Nov. 30. Wreaths are $17 each and will be laid on the graves of veterans buried at Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels on Saturday, Dec. 13. Checks should be made out to “Wreaths Across America” and sent to the Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club, P.O. Box 453, Carmichaels, Pa. 15320. For more information, call 724-966-248

The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting sandwich crackers, breakfast bars, or pudding cups in November and December. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church. At the end of the collection period, items will be packed at Brownsville First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville, on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m.

Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock, will hold “Kingdom Kids” time for children in kindergarten through grade from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. There will be Bible stories, music, crafts, games, and snacks. Call 724-677-2149 with questions.
