Stepping Stones Bereavement Support will begin the spring program on Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union St., Uniontown. The non-denominational program is open to newly bereaved persons as well as those still dealing with a loss. There is no cost to participate. 4 C Ministry of the Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic will be open for the public to purchase new and gently-used clothing and household supplies on Wednesday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.

A free community dinner will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at California United Methodist Church, 227 Third Street, California. The menu includes roast turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Guests can bring a side dish or dessert to share, but it is not required. Contact the church office with questions at 724-938-2270.

The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting Pop-Tarts and ravioli bowls during the months of March and April. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church. Volunteers are needed to pack the items at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at Brownsville First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville.

Located at California United Methodist Church’s Care and Share Thrift Store has the following deals: March 5-6, buy one, get one shoes; March 12-13, $1 or $2 off purchase total; March 19-20, 50% off spring coats and short-sleeved tops; March 26-27, $1 children’s clothing. The store is open from 6 to 8 p.m .on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.

The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. at the Carmichaels Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 104 W. South St., Carmichaels, for its annual Rose’s Tea Party. Matthew Cumberledge, executive director of the Greene County Historical Society and Museum, will be the guest speaker. Club members are reminded to bring Birthday Cake Kits for the food bank. New members are welcome.

California United Women in Faith (UWF) is hosting a meeting to discuss food insecurity. A speaker will provide information about the local food bank and other resources that are available. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10 in the social hall of California United Methodist Church, 227 Third St., California. The meeting is not limited to women, and anyone can attend.

Lenten Worship Services will be held on March 5 at Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic; March 12 at Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville; March 19 at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock; March 26 at Brownsville First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville. All services are at 7 p.m.

There will be an eat-in or take-out fish fry on Fridays, March 6, 13 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville.

Fresh Fire Church will hold a food give away at the old Sears store at the Uniontown Mall on Thursday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to noon at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food.

There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m.

There will be a blood drive at the First Christian Church of Brownsville, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Tuesday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.

Help is needed with unloading the food bank truck at the First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Friday, March 27 at 9 a.m. The food bank is on Saturday, March 28 from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Smock is sponsoring “Loads of Love” days at Mod Laundromat, 503 Union St., Brownsville on Sunday, March 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who need help paying for laundry costs are invited to do their laundry at this time.

Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) invites teens to participate in its ongoing Crafty Conversations program, held on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center, 119 Brownsville Ave., Brownsville. The free sessions offer teens a chance to express themselves artistically. The Uniontown Amateur Radio Club holds its meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 7 p.m. at the club building, 433 Old Pittsburgh Road, Uniontown. Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville is holding a weekly meeting for women and teenage girls to discuss issues like depression, grief and eating disorders. Meetings are on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

On Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the addiction recovery ministry There is Hope will be held at Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville.
