Carnegie Museums announces fundraising campaign

2 min read

Carnegie Museums has launched a $500 million fundraising campaign in support of its four Pittsburgh museums: Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Kamin Science Center, and The Andy Warhol Museum.

According to a news release, Carnegie Museums hopes to make improvements to its buildings and boost educational programming as a result of the fundraising campaign, along with other projects.

“For generations, the four Carnegie Museums have been integral to the life and identity of our city and region, and this campaign will not only help sustain them for generations to come but greatly expand their capacity to transform lives and build communities,” said Steven Knapp, president and chief executive officer of Carnegie Museums.

Among the future projects that will be supported by the campaign are two new early-learner experiences at Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Kamin Science Center; The Factory: Creative Arts Center, part of The Andy Warhol Museum’s Pop District initiative; the revitalization of Carnegie Museum of Art’s exterior public spaces, which are part of Carnegie Museums’ Oakland campus, and the Science Center’s riverfront grounds on Pittsburgh’s North Shore; and the Science of Speed exhibition at Kamin Science Center.
