Pittsburgh Public Theater, Pittsburgh CLO announce ‘prologue season’
Pittsburgh Public Theater and the Pittsburgh CLO have announced a “prologue season” of programming as the two organizations work toward a merger.
It will include the “PNC Summer of Musicals” at the Benedum Center from June 23 to July 26. The lineup this summer is “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” “Mean Girls” and “Suffs.” The rest of the “prologue season” will include:
-“How Shakespeare Saved My Life,” at the O’Reilly Theater Nov. 11-25. It is an autobiographical tale written and produced by Pittsburgh native Jacob Ming-Trent.
-“Who’s Holiday!”, at the Greer Cabaret Theater Nov. 25-Dec. 20, is a one-woman comedy reimagining Cindy Lou Who as a brassy, now-grown woman reflecting on her life after the Grinch incident. It contains adult content.
-“A Musical Christmas Carol,” at the Byham Theater Dec. 13-23, which remains a holiday tradition for many Pittsburgh-area theatergoers.
Tickets to the Prologue Season will be for sale in July. Information on the Pittsburgh CLO is available at pittsburghclo.org and information on Pittsburgh Public Theater can be found at ppt.org.
