UPMC Launches Saturday Injury Clinic in Washington

By Karen Mansfield 2 min read

UPMC has launched a Saturday Injury Clinic for student-athletes in Washington County and nearby communities to provide fast, convenient orthopedic care for athletes injured during games, practices and other athletic activities.

The walk-in clinic, which launched Aug. 29, is located in Neighbor Health Building No. 1, Suite 202 at 95 Leonard Ave., Washington, will be held every Saturday through Oct. 31. It will provide evaluation and treatment for athletes ages 10 to 26 with recent injuries.

“Since becoming part of UPMC, we’ve been committed to bringing more services, specialists and advanced care closer to home,” said Brook Ward, president of UPMC Washington and UPMC Greene. “The opening of our Saturday Injury Clinic is another way we’re delivering on that promise. Student athletes and their families shouldn’t have to wait until Monday or travel outside the community to receive expert care after an injury. This clinic helps athletes begin treatment sooner and return safely to the activities they enjoy.”

The clinic is designed to evaluate injuries sustained within the previous three days. No appointment is necessary, and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Families are encouraged to arrive between 7:30 and 8 a.m. to register and help ensure they can be seen that day. Patients should bring their insurance card, and applicable copays will be collected at the time of service.
