Greene County home destroyed in fire
No one was injured when a Christmas Eve fire broke out in a Sycamore home.
Center Township Fire Chief Paul Cook said the home at 851 Hopewell Ridge Road, used as a guest house by the property owner, was a total loss.
No one was inside when the fire broke out around 8:45 a.m., Cook said.
He did not identify the property owner, but said that person was alerted to the fire by an alarm in their primary residence.
Seven departments responded, and Cook expected firefighters to be there until early afternoon to put out lingering hot spots.
A fire marshal was called to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
