Suspect in Uniontown homicide apprehended in Maryland
The suspect in a Uniontown homicide was taken into custody Friday morning in Baltimore.
Braedon Dickinson, 18, of Connellsville will be transported back to Fayette County to face homicide charges in the fatal Feb. 5 shooting of Lemaur Thompson, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said in a Facebook post Friday morning.
“We appreciate the efforts of the multiple agencies that have worked tirelessly to locate this defendant, including the Pennsylvania State Police; Maryland State Police; U.S. Marshals; and the FBI,” Aubele said in the post.
Police said surveillance footage showed Dickinson walking down Dunlap Street with Thompson, 20, before shooting Thompson and rifling through his pockets.
Dickinson faces charges of criminal homicide, robbery inflicting serious bodily injury, possession of a prohibited firearm and recklessly endangering another person.
At the time of the shooting, Dickinson was out on bond on two earlier Fayette County cases. He was charged in October with fleeing police in a stolen car, and in December with possessing a prohibited firearm.
