‘Mean Girls’ opens at the Benedum Tuesday
“Mean Girls,” the Broadway musical based on the 2004 teen comedy that starred Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams and was written by Tina Fey, will be opening at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Staged by the Pittsburgh CLO, the cast will include Nia Sioux, who was one of the young dancers on the TV reality series “Dance Moms.” Along with a recording career and publishing a book, her stage and screen credits have included “Imperfect High,” “Dance With Nia” and a cameo appearance as herself in the screen version of the “Mean Girls” musical.
Fey also wrote the script for the stage version of “Mean Girls.”
Several events are happening in conjunction with “Mean Girls,” including a dance masterclass for children aged 8 to 18 and a talkback with the “Mean Girls” cast.
