Country-rock singer-songwriter Brantley Gilbert will bring his hard-driving Southern blend of rock and country to Timber Rock Amphitheater on Friday at 7 p.m. performance as part of his 2026 tour.

The multi-platinum artist, known for his gritty sound and rebellious edge, has been performing since 2005 and has racked up more than 8.3 billion career streams, along with multiple platinum albums. He recently returned to country radio with “Good Damn,” his first release since signing with BBR Music Group and BMG Nashville.

“Good Damn” gives fans a glimpse of new music from the Georgia native as he prepares to release his eighth studio album, “Sins of the Father,” coming later this summer.

Reflecting on the past

In “Sins of the Father,” Gilbert isn’t boasting about having “no regrets,” but instead reflecting on his past with a sense of introspection.

“When you’re facing your past, you’re sometimes so far removed from the person you used to be,” he said, noting that revisiting earlier chapters of his life made him recognize the gravity of some of the choices he made.

“Being a husband and father is miles away from what I thought was in store for my life,” he said. “Now that I’m raising kids of my own, I have been asking what gets left behind and what lives on.”

Faith, he added, has helped ground him when it comes to life’s challenges.

“Faith carries through the messy parts of life and helps me come out on the other side a little bit wiser,” he said.

One thing Gilbert hopes people will understand about him when listening to “Sins of My Father” is one can still learn from mistakes.

“I hope people hear it and realize it’s never too late to turn things around,” he said.

The concert experience

In a review for the website Melodies N Memories, music writer Lindsi Odum describes a March performance.

“Brantley Gilbert came out hot, with pyrotechnics lighting up the stage, and did not disappoint,” Odum wrote. “From the first note, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand, tearing through hits like ‘Kick It in the Sticks’ and an acoustic version of ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.’ But one of the night’s standout moments was when he brought his young son, Braylen, on stage to sing ‘Dirty Money’ with him.”

Odum said that Braylen took over the stage, following his dad towards the crowd like a natural.

“Who knows? We might have just witnessed the rise of country rock’s next big star,” said Odum.

Gilbert said striving to be a good role model to his children trumps accolades.

“Music is important to me, but at the end of the day, they’re not gonna care how many records I sold if I wasn’t there for them, or if I didn’t lead by example,” he said.

Creating connection

Gilbert said he has never been interested in chasing trends, nor fitting neatly into one genre.

“It’s always about serving the song, whether that means leaning into country, or rock, or somewhere in between,” he said. “As long as it comes from a real place, that’s a Brantley Gilbert song.”

Over the years, he has also learned by observing while touring with artists ranging from Willie Nelson to Nickelback.

“I watch how other artists create connections with a crowd-how they get into show mode-or how they build out their setlist. You can’t help but pick up little pieces from everyone, especially when you’re first starting out,” he said.

In the end, however, Gilbert realizes that staying authentic resonates the most with fans.

“I write songs the way I wanna hear them and the way I think the people that come to our shows wanna hear them,” he said.
