A new model of the Presque Isle Lighthouse in Erie has been added to the Miniature Railroad and Village at the Kamin Science Center.

A new miniature landmark has been unveiled at the Kamin Science Center’s Miniature Railroad and Village.

The new model of the Presque Isle Lighthouse in Erie is the latest addition to the 83-by-30-foot exhibit that features nearly 60 detailed displays that help to celebrate Western Pennsylvania’s history.

The Miniature Railroad and Village traces its roots to 1919, when Charles Bowdish began building intricate railroad scenes in his Brookville home. In 1954, the exhibit moved to the Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science before expanding and reopening at the Science Center in 1992.
